Unboxing a new curriculum can be fun, exciting, and sometimes intimidating. Here are some resources we want to share in order to help you get started with Essentials!
First, take the time to read the introduction of the teacher’s manual. You can also find the introduction in the Essentials 1-7 Online course in the free introductory module or at the beginning of the physical teacher's guide.
Second, give your student(s) the placement test to determine which level each student will go through the curriculum. To learn more about the different levels built into the units of Essentials, please visit our website. You can give the placement test using the PDF or use the online version. The online version has videos and is guided by a google form to help you make your decision. If using the online version, you may want the answer key for Part 8, which you can find below.
Lastly, you may want to watch this YouTube video. It is a good introduction to Essentials and all of the pieces. You can also learn more about Essentials on our website.
Note: If you are unsure if Foundations or Essentials is a better fit for your student(s), please use our Help Me Choose tool to help you decide.
As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are happy to help.
