Designed and printed in different colors and fonts, the Phonogram Game Cards are available for purchase in three different decks. The Game Cards provide opportunities for students to develop fluency in recognizing the phonograms and knowing their sounds.
You will need two types of game cards to play most Logic of English games: Blue Bookface (which use a standard book font similar to what students will encounter in printed materials), and either Green Cursive or Red Manuscript, depending on which handwriting style your student is learning.
Playing phonogram games with both fonts helps students develop fluency in recognizing the phonograms both in book print and in writing. In addition, most of our games require multiples of each phonogram you are practicing, so a pair of decks will be needed. For this reason, the Complete Sets for both Essentials and Foundations include pairs of Game Card decks, and a Game Card Set includes two decks.
If you have more than four students, order additional sets of decks. Most Logic of English card games work best in groups of two to four players, though some can also be played in a larger group.
