In the second half of Essentials, Lessons 16-30, students learn the remaining phonograms and spelling rules not introduced in Lessons 1-15, as well as many new grammar and vocabulary concepts. As in the first fifteen lessons, there are three spelling lists in each lesson so that you can provide the right level of challenge as students apply the concepts they are learning.
To see the Phonograms, Spelling Rules, Grammar, Morphemes, and other concepts taught in each lesson of Essentials, see the Essentials Scope and Sequence.
Title note: Volume 2 is now Lessons 16-22 and 23-30
When we released Essentials 2nd Edition Lessons 1-15 in 2015 in one large book called Volume 1, Logic of English was planning to release the second half in another large book, Volume 2.
However, based on how large the second Teacher's Guide would have been, and because we wanted to provide greater flexibility in pacing, we later decided to divide these lessons into two smaller books, Essentials 16-22 and 23-30, instead.
We have now begun printing the first fifteen lessons in two smaller books as well. Essentials 1-7 and 8-15 contain the same fifteen lessons previously printed as "Essentials Volume 1." The Volume 1 Workbooks are interchangeable with the 1-7 and 8-15 Workbooks.
